RSP Nutrition L-Carnitine – Fat loss Review

Product overview

In this product review we are going to be looking at L-Carnitine which is a naturally occurring amino acid derivative that’s often taken as a weight loss supplement. L-Carnitine has been around for a long time, that’s involved with energy metabolism in the body and therefore, many people hypothesis that it can aid in fat loss. RSP Nutrition’s L-Carnitine comes with 120 servings per bottle with one serving being one capsule (i.e. 120 servings per container).

Pros and Cons

RSP Nutrition’s product is entirely stimulant free. This means that whilst other products might contain caffeine, this product doesn’t and therefore, you can take it at any time of the day. The last thing that you want is for your supplementation and diet to affect your sleep as in turn, that can affect your performance and success with your goals.

The downside to this product is that l-carnitine hasn’t been proven to actually aid in the success of weight loss goals unless the individual is already deficient in their natural l-carnitine levels.

Product Description & Benefits

L-Carnitine and Acetyl L-Carnitine (ALCAR) can help to alleviate the effects of aging and disease upon mitochondria as well as increase the ability of these mitochondria to burn fat. The theory itself is good, but the tests specifically on using L-Carnitine for fat loss do not support this claim. However, as it can help to improve your energy levels, it can help to indirectly burn fat as you’ll be burning more calories each day.

L-Carnitine can also help to improve your cognition as some people report feeling more alert. This is most likely due to the additional mitochondrial capacity and support for the neurons within your brain. For this reason, it can also help to reduce the mental decline associated with aging as well as improving the sensitivity of your insulin and the health of your blood vessels.

RSP Nutrition state that their L-Carnitine supplement can “convert fat into re-usable energy” and “increase workout performance” to help you get the results you want. Though, most of the evidence supports its use for health benefits opposed to performance.

Overall Rank & Review

As a supplement, due to the unproven effectiveness of l-carnitine, this product ranks low in terms of importance. Other supplements will be much more effective and worth your money, such as protein powder, creatine, caffeine, and beta alanine. If you are deficient in l-carnitine, then using this supplement can be extremely effective to reduce the effects of fatigue and mental performance.

  1. Thanks for highlighting the fact that this supplement isn’t fully proven to be effective. Most other blogs tend to skip over this

    • Thanks for the comments you left, this product has been around for such a long time that the results do speak for themselves, but their are a lot of factors involved and results can vary from person to person.

Thanks if you require any more information please let me know.

  2. I have used fat burners in the past as a way to help with my metabolism. I found that they make me really jittery. I’m wondering if this one would be better since it doesn’t have stimulants? What do you think?

    • Hi thanks for leaving your comments, this product is stimulant free meaning you can take it any time of the day and not get that caffeine high and even the jitters, I find that I can stack this product with other products and even get better gains from my work out.

  3. I appreciate your post! In my bodybuilding days I used L-carnitine as a part of my cutting cycle prior to competition. I did find that it aided in my goals of stripping body-fat. If you want to use fat as a fuel as efficiently and effectively as possible, you need l-carnitine highly recommend it.

    • Hi thanks for your post, I would have to agree with you sometimes you need that extra edge to get that stubborn fat off and l-Carnatine does the trick. Thanks again

  4. Good article and I am glad Vivek highlighted the fact that many of the other blogs that are pushing a certain product, do not highlight that it might not work as advertised. At the moment I am using a fat burner, so far it’s working as advertised, I am sitting on the fence with this because I have not really seen any difference in my workout, muscle mass is growing , but I do not know if that is from exercise alone or from the caps.

    Anyway good article.

    • Hi thanks for the comments you left, its important that people buy the product for them selves and be the judge on whether or not the product works, L-Carnatine has been around forever and i very safe to take and it does work I myself have used it and it has helped me get gains in my work out.
      Thanks
